    The first time I bought a quality monitor-ish headphones (Sennheiser HD205) about 15 years ago is like I was hearing my favourite music for the first time - every sound was so clean and completely different than any cheap ass HiFi rubbish headphones I have owned before that. And since then I always rely on monitoring types for listening music, especially when I also used to mix and DJ some years ago, simple because this is the way to enjoy fully your favourite music just like the way the author intended to sound in the first place. So my trusty Superlux HD661s finally died few days ago (RIP, fellas) and I started to.look for a new pair. Since I already have a great pair of Presonus desktop monitors (the Eris 3.5) I was pretty surprised they also make headphones, that looks so surprisingly sturdy. Thanks for the review, it looks like they are worth buying.

  • @guitarlearnerish

    Can confirm that this headphone is for small headed people. I got the brother of this one (superlux hd660, same shape & sound but closed back with more tight, getting punch in ur face bass & less soundstage. Loved it) I got relatively small head (still bigger than averages in my place) & the headphone sits well on my head fully extended. I do wanna change the earpads with a better one. The price of this headphone fully modded is still a fraction compared to the beyerdynamic (headphones r ridiculously expensive here...especially the branded one. Heck even mine r considered expensive) Planning to buy the hd330 as well & then I got them twins

  • @AmbientWanderer
    @AmbientWanderer 3 года назад

    I have a small head, so i think the Superluxes would probably fit me well. In terms of the sound quality, I 'm looking to use these for Deejaying, so would you say they have enough punch for monitoring ?

    • @Gruingle1
      @Gruingle1 3 года назад

      The sound quality out of them was very good, the only thing I would say is that the Superluxes ear cups can't flip or rotate, but they are a good monitoring headphone, just no good for my size head lol

    • @Gruingle1
      @Gruingle1 3 года назад

      Mate I am fairly certain mine does, I have been told in the past that if there is a little square "box" at the end of the negative battery lead just near the negative battery terminal it means you have a smart alternator, as I say in the video mine is delivering 14.4 pretty much all the time, I know the dealer can disable it if you want

    Hi Jason, Great video and you inspired me to buy the same GME kit especially after watching their "Australian Made" videos. I made some minor changes to your install on my 2017 Ranger. I also purchased the GME Ranger mounting bracket, but I installed mine closer to the window (I think yours is in the mid position?) - seemed to fit better with the bonnet lid. I put a small plastic stick on dot (like they use with cabinet drawers in your kitchen) on the underside of the bracket to protect the side panel duco For power, I wired it in to the fuse panel by the drivers door. Purchased from Repco a "micro2" add a circuit "piggy back" fuse holder (Narva 54415BL). The earth went to the mounting stud for the fuse holder. So, I only had to run the antenna coax from the engine bay. What I found in the fuse panel were circuits "always on" and circuits that were "disabled when engine turned off", so like you I used a always on circuit. For my GME kit, the antenna coax came terminated with a small plug that screwed in to the back of the PL259 coax plug. So cutting it shorter was not an option. I was concerned with what to do with the excess coax length, so sent message to GMR support - got a reply almost instantly!! They said "Please keep the excess cable at-least one meter away from the radio." - so I looped it in large loops behind the glove box I found a few youtube videos that helped me figure out how to pull out all the trim panels so I could easily gain access to cables etc. I've got photo's of what I've done if any one would like them Cheers and once again thanks for your great video

Have previously purchased many Kickass products, would not purchase another fridge from this company, due to lack of customer service.

    • @Gruingle1
      @Gruingle1 3 года назад

      Mate, I can only comment on the ones I have used, the HD9's for me are the ones I use everyday while mixing/mastering etc. I was thinking about the Audio Technica M40X, I like the detachable cable, but at the time, I was in a music shop saw the Presonus and grabbed them. If I had a bit more money to spend I would go the Beyerdynamic DT770 though. As I mention in the video anything that isn't labelled as "studio monitors" etc is probably not going to give you the "true" sound.

    Hey Jason just fitted one aswell on me brothers ranger px 2018 same issue not an exact fit, top part of the fascia is sticking front 1mm. Have you got spotlights yet to hook up to that button. we've just hooked up XTM light bar to it. The only issue is that, the dash button light, that's just hooked up to the cigarette 12 volt just for illumination. couldn't be stuffed looking for the lights for the dash hahaha. maybe too much stuffing around because it also had the auto aswell for the lights, abit difficult for me. so just illuminates everytime the car is on, which we don't mind

    One thing you need to be aware of is the Mazda recommendation for the antenna location. The user handbook specifically states that for transceivers operating in the range 380 to 512 MHz (UHF CB is about 477 MHz) the antenna should be located at the rear top of the cabin. It also warns "Do not fasten aerial leads to original vehicle wiring, fuel pipes and brake pipes. Keep aerial and power leads at least 10 centimetres (4 inches) from any electronic modules and airbags" This is because the transmitter can cause interference to electronic modules with potentially disastrous consequences. As UHF CB runs at 5 Watts, the risk is low but still there and some user have 50 Watt commercial radios set up on UHF CB frequencies.

      @@Gruingle1 thanks for the clarification mate. I've got the forscan demo app which displays the trans temp, but its a pain to set up on every trip, I was hoping to have this ems have it ready when I started the car.

      @@turbostyler , yea everything else but trans temps, so I have set mine up to display Coolant temp, Voltage, Vehicle Speed and RPM. I will admit no issues with it turning on and off etc, boots up almost instantly

    Could you remove the tub liner for ease of running the cable?

    • @Gruingle1
      @Gruingle1 4 года назад

      Maybe, that was something I didn't want to do, with mine but I am not sure, maybe, depends on what the tub is like at that point?

      Jason Reeves yeah fair enough. Just a thought. Not sure how I’ll do mine just yet.

      Jason Reeves yeah could be. I’ll let you know if I end up doing it.
